Why Routine Air Conditioning Service is Essential for Your Wantagh, NY Home
If you live in Nassau County, when the summer arrives, your central air conditioner is undoubtedly your best friend. When the heat and humidity are off the charts, there’s nothing more refreshing than walking into your air-conditioned house after spending time outside. Indeed, you rely on your HVAC system to keep you and your family cool and comfortable during the dog days of summer; however, when it’s working properly, you might not give it a second thought. It’s when it starts acting up that you realize just how crucial your central air conditioning system really is.
Fortunately, there’s a way that you can avoid issues and ensure your Nassau County central air conditioning unit stays in tip-top condition. How? By investing in routine air conditioning services from a highly trained professional. Here’s a look at why having a Wantagh, NY air conditioner repair company service your central air conditioning system is an absolute must.
Increased Comfort and Safety
The primary objective of a central air conditioning system is to maintain the comfort and safety of your Nassau County home; however, in order for your HVAC system to serve this purpose, it has to be properly maintained. With regular use, dirt and debris accumulates on the filters and vents, in the ductwork, on the evaporator and condenser coils, and even in the drain lines. Regular use can also lead to wear and tear that can loosen and damage the various components. All of these factors can reduce the efficiency of your central air conditioner, and in turn, decrease your comfort and safety.
With routine air conditioning service, the system will receive the maintenance that’s required to ensure it continues to produce consistent temperatures, and thus, maintain the comfort and safety of your Nassau County home and your family.
Like a lot of Nassau County homeowners, you might assume that skipping on routine air conditioning services is an unnecessary expense. That’s a common misconception, as running a poorly maintained HVAC system can actually end up costing you a lot more than having it serviced. Not only is the risk of expensive breakdowns increased, but a neglected air conditioner uses more energy, as it needs to work harder to maintain consistent temperatures, which will result in higher utility bills.
By having a professional HVAC technician maintain your AC, it will run more efficiently and consume less energy, thus your utility bills will be lower. Plus, if there are any underlying issues, they can be detected and corrected before they become larger problems that require more expensive repairs. Plus, a reputable Wantagh, NY air conditioner repair company will charge fair and affordable prices.
Peace of Mind
Since regular AC maintenance services will increase your comfort and safety, and because you’ll save money when your central air conditioning system is properly maintained, by having a reputable Wantagh, NY air conditioner repair company upkeep your system, you’ll enjoy more peace of mind. In today’s world when life can be so stressful, who couldn’t use more peace of mind?

Some information about Wantagh, NY
Wantagh is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Hempstead in Nassau County, on Long Island, New York, United States. The population was 18,871 at the time of the 2010 census.
The Wantagh area was inhabited by the Merokee (or Merikoke) tribe of the Metoac Indians prior to the first wave of European settlement in the mid-17th century. The Merokee were part of the greater Montauk tribe that loosely ruled Long Island’s Native Americans. Wantagh was the sachem (chief) of the Merokee tribe in 1647, and was later the grand sachem of the Montauk tribe from 1651 to 1658. The Dutch settlers came east from their New Amsterdam colony, and English settlers came south from Connecticut and Massachusetts settlements. When the English and Dutch settled their competing claims to Long Island in the 1650 treaty conducted in Hartford, the Dutch partition included all lands west of Oyster Bay and thus the Wantagh area. Long Island then was ceded to the Duke of York in 1663–64, but then fell back into Dutch hands after the Dutch regained New York in 1673. The Treaty of Westminster in 1674 settled the land claims once and for all, incorporating Long Island into the now-British colony of New York.
Early settler accounts refer to Wantagh as ‘Jerusalem’, although earlier accounts refer to the area as ‘Wantagh’. The creek running north–south through Wantagh, and which has been covered up in many places but is still visible between the Wantagh Parkway and the housing developments west of Wantagh Avenue, was originally the Jerusalem River. The original post office was built in 1837, for Jerusalem, but mail service from Brooklyn began around 1780. The town’s first school was established in 1790. At some time around the 1880s, Jerusalem was renamed Ridgewood, and the town’s original LIRR station was named ‘Ridgewood Station’. Later, Ridgewood was renamed Wantagh to avoid confusion with another town in New York State with the same name.
George Washington rode through Jerusalem on April 21, 1790, as part of his 5-day tour of Long Island. The Daughters of the American Revolution have placed a plaque on Hempstead Turnpike to commemorate Washington’s travels, which took him from Hempstead on Jerusalem Road (now North Jerusalem Road) to Jerusalem, on to Merrick Road. He then went on to head east, then circle back west on the north shore. During the Revolutionary War, British ships traveled up Jones inlet and came ashore to raid Jerusalem farms.
