Is your existing HVAC system acting up or has it exceeded its life expectancy and needs to be replaced? Do you want to install a ductless air conditioner in your newly constructed Nassau County house? Whatever your particular situation may be, if you’re in of the services of a Bethpage, NY air conditioner repair, replacement, and installation company, you’re going to want to hire the most reliable contractor possible. But how do you do that? By interviewing several different AC companies and asking some key questions before you decide which one to hire.
To help you decide which Bethpage, NY air conditioner repair and installation company to hire, here’s a look at some key questions to ask the AC companies during the interview process. The answers to these questions will help you determine which company will best suit your needs.
Are you licensed and insured?
First and foremost, you’re going to want to make sure that the AC companies that you’re considering hiring are fully licensed and insured. Heating and cooling companies have to be licensed and insured to provide services in Nassau County. Plus, licensing confirms that the HVAC contractors are professionally trained and that they adhere to and employ the most cutting-edge techniques and strategies. Furthermore, insurance protects you from having to pay for any unexpected expenses in the event that something goes wrong; your property is damaged or a technician sustains an injury, for example.
Don’t just ask AC companies if they’re licensed and insured; ask to see proof and confirm the validity of both. A reputable Bethpage, NY air conditioner repair company will be more than happy to share this information with you.
How long have you been in business?
Sure, there’s a chance that newly established AC companies could provide reliable results; however, when it comes to something as important as cooling your Nassau County home, you really don’t want to leave anything to chance. That said, hiring a Bethpage, NY air conditioner repair and installation company is highly recommended. Ideally, you should choose a company that’s been in business for at least a few years, because the longer they’ve been in business, the more experience they’ll have, and they’ll bring that experience to your project.
What kind of services do you provide?
Don’t just assume that all AC companies offer the same services. Some might provide HVAC installation, while others might specialize in AC repair services only. It goes without saying that you want to make sure you choose a Bethpage, NY air conditioner repair professional that offers the specific AC services you require, so be sure to inquire before you decide which company to hire.
Do you have references I can contact?
You can tell a lot about the services AC companies provide from the past clients they’ve served, so be sure to ask each HVAC contractor you speak with if they can provide you with a list of references. Take the time to reach out to a few of the contacts on their list and ask about the services they hired the company to perform and if they were satisfied with the results. A credible Bethpage, NY air conditioner repair and maintenance professional will gladly provide a list of references. If any of the companies you speak with won’t honor your request, consider that a warning sign and proceed with caution, or better yet, cross them off your list.

Bethpage is a hamlet located on Long Island within the Town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County, New York, United States, as well as a census-designated place (CDP) with borders slightly different from those of the hamlet. The CDP’s population was 16,429 at the 2010 United States Census.
The name Bethpage comes from the Quaker Thomas Powell, who named the area after the Biblical town Bethphage, which was between Jericho and Jerusalem in the Holy Land. Present-day Bethpage was part of the 1695 Bethpage Purchase. An early name for the northern section of present-day Bethpage was Bedelltown,a name that appeared on maps at least as late as 1906.
On maps just before the arrival of the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR), the name Bethpage appears for a community now included in both the post office district and school district of the adjacent community of Farmingdale. In 1841,train service began to Farmingdale station, near a new settlement less than a mile eastward from what had previously appeared on maps as Bethpage. Schedules at that time do not mention Bethpage as a stop, but have a notation ‘late Bethpage’.On an 1855 map,the location identified as Bethpage has shifted slightly westward to include a nearby area now called Plainedge.
Between 1851and 1854,the LIRR initiated a stop within present-day Bethpage at a station then called Jerusalem Station, and on January 29, 1857 a local post office opened, also named Jerusalem Station.LIRR schedules listed the station also as simply Jerusalem.Residents succeeded in changing the name of the post office to Central Park, effective March 1, 1867 (respelled as Centralpark from 1895 to 1899).The Central Park Fire Company was organized in April 1910, and incorporated in May 1911. In May 1923 the Central Park Water District was created.
