4 Key Questions to Ask Carle Place, NY AC Companies

Is your existing HVAC system acting up or has it exceeded its life expectancy and needs to be replaced? Do you want to install a ductless air conditioner in your newly constructed Nassau County house? Whatever your particular situation may be, if you’re in of the services of a Carle Place, NY air conditioner repair, replacement, and installation company, you’re going to want to hire the most reliable contractor possible. But how do you do that? By interviewing several different AC companies and asking some key questions before you decide which one to hire.

To help you decide which Carle Place, NY air conditioner repair and installation company to hire, here’s a look at some key questions to ask the AC companies during the interview process. The answers to these questions will help you determine which company will best suit your needs.

Are you licensed and insured?

First and foremost, you’re going to want to make sure that the AC companies that you’re considering hiring are fully licensed and insured. Heating and cooling companies have to be licensed and insured to provide services in Nassau County. Plus, licensing confirms that the HVAC contractors are professionally trained and that they adhere to and employ the most cutting-edge techniques and strategies. Furthermore, insurance protects you from having to pay for any unexpected expenses in the event that something goes wrong; your property is damaged or a technician sustains an injury, for example.

Don’t just ask AC companies if they’re licensed and insured; ask to see proof and confirm the validity of both. A reputable Carle Place, NY air conditioner repair company will be more than happy to share this information with you.

How long have you been in business?

Sure, there’s a chance that newly established AC companies could provide reliable results; however, when it comes to something as important as cooling your Nassau County home, you really don’t want to leave anything to chance. That said, hiring a Carle Place, NY air conditioner repair and installation company is highly recommended. Ideally, you should choose a company that’s been in business for at least a few years, because the longer they’ve been in business, the more experience they’ll have, and they’ll bring that experience to your project.

What kind of services do you provide?

Don’t just assume that all AC companies offer the same services. Some might provide HVAC installation, while others might specialize in AC repair services only. It goes without saying that you want to make sure you choose a Carle Place, NY air conditioner repair professional that offers the specific AC services you require, so be sure to inquire before you decide which company to hire.

Do you have references I can contact?

You can tell a lot about the services AC companies provide from the past clients they’ve served, so be sure to ask each HVAC contractor you speak with if they can provide you with a list of references. Take the time to reach out to a few of the contacts on their list and ask about the services they hired the company to perform and if they were satisfied with the results. A credible Carle Place, NY air conditioner repair and maintenance professional will gladly provide a list of references. If any of the companies you speak with won’t honor your request, consider that a warning sign and proceed with caution, or better yet, cross them off your list.

Some information about Carle Place, NY

Carle Place is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of North Hempstead in Nassau County, Long Island, New York, United States. The CDP’s population was 4,981 at the 2010 census.

In 1946, developer William J. Levitt bought 19 acres of land near the Carle Place train station for an experiment. His crews brought pre-cut lumber to the site and rapidly assembled 600 low-cost houses, offering affordable suburban living with an easy commute into offices in New York City. Within five years, returning veterans and their families swelled the population by 500 percent. It transformed Carle Place, and served as the prototype for Levittown, the larger development which Levitt began the following year a few miles away.

Saint Mary’s Chapel, located on Rushmore Ave near the center of Carle Place

The hamlet is named for Silas Carle, or (more specifically) the Carle House – a 32-room house built by Carle in Westbury in the 1800s. It was commonly known as the ‘Carle Place’, and the surrounding area later took the name.

The area was also known as Mineola Park between ca. 1895 and 1915, after an unsuccessful real estate development of the same name within the hamlet. The name was reverted to Carle Place in 1915, and there was only one further attempt to change it, which took place in 1951 after Levitt & Sons purchased and developed much of the area consisting of the unsuccessful development. The proposal failed, as the majority of residents preferred keeping the name, and no attempts to change it have taken place since.
